Ustādh Uzair AbdusSamad (UK)

Ustādh Uzair AbdusSamad, a student of Shaykh Jamal Abdinasir, is contactable via email at info.rrefinement@gmail.com (the double R is correct - Recitation Refinement). Ustādh Uzair provides high-quality courses open to men and women either completely free or at a very affordable price. Ustādh Uzair teaches independently through Recitation Refinement, but he also runs courses for institutes, including Dar al-Arqam. He also runs private sessions for his students. The instruction is delivered in English.

Previous courses have included:

  • Tajwīd Course - a 3 month programme focusing on Tajwīd Theory in detail, with classes twice a week. This ran twice in 2020 and was open to the public, both men and women. September 2021 update: The same course is being taught again for free and recordings are available. Click here.

  • Rectification of Juz' Amma - a weekly class in 2020 exploring the correct pronunciation of the short sūrahs we read daily. Ustādh would recite the sūrah and then explain it through three subsections: the makhārij, the sifāt, and then aḥkām of tajwīd.

Ustādh Dr Mohammed Yusuf (UK)

Dr Mohammed Yusuf is a certified Qur’ān teacher and dentist by profession. He memorised the Quran at an early age and then studied at the leading Islamic institution – Institut Européen Des Sciences Humaines Chateau Chinon (European Institute of Human Sciences) in Chateau Chinin, France where he obtained Ijaazah (certification) in teaching and perfection of Quran recital.

He is an experieced teacher and has conducted several tajweed courses organised by the Federation of Student Islamic Societies UK, The European Academy of Quranic Studies and the Islamic Society of Britain.

He teaches locally in Manchester but some of his courses will be moving online. He offers high-quality tajwīd classes in English, and some of his courses have been uploaded to YouTube in their entirety, for free.
